Nic Pulvirenti | Preferred Agent Interview

On your Instagram it says you are a pilot turned real estate agent, that’s not something you see every day, how did such a transition come about? My whole life my plan was to become a commercial pilot. Directly after High School I got a job baggage handling in order to pay for my flight training. Months into flight training I realised flying wasn’t for me. I wanted a career with my feet planted firmly on the ground. I then slid into real estate as it seemed to tick all my boxes. I always felt I was super self-driven and had the right personality for the job. The rest is history! The properties I’ve staged for you so far have sold in record time, with multiple offers and you achieved higher end of the price bracket – What are you doing differently to achieve these amazing results? (Besides staging – ha!) Staging has of course been a huge factor that has played into how we have achieved record prices & record selling times for many of our properties of late. Besides staging, we are big believers in spending a buck to make a few. We give quality recommendations to all of our sellers on improvements they can do around the home to increase value + help it sell faster. Most buyers want to move in with the majority of the work done for them, they will also generally pay a premium for this. This is where our expertise comes into play. Do you have a real estate mentor? If so, who and why?My colleagues Paul & Denise have been my biggest mentors to date. They’ve taught me all there is to learn about this industry. I always say there is no better person to learn your craft from than someone who has mastered it themselves. Other than my immediate circle, I take a lot of inspiration from Josh Tesolin, Australias #1 agent. Josh has been a big inspiration for me as he is extremely young, driven and proves that if you want anything bad enough, age & experience won’t get in your way.

What’s a typical day in the real estate life of Nic look like? There is really is no typical day. I often find myself starting and finishing at all different times. Some days however it may look like this..

– An appraisal or two
– Back in the office for some admin work
– Out and about meeting photographers, stagers, owners etc..
– Updating socials, some cold calls, databasing etc..
– Private viewings and afternoon home opens
– Pre-settlement inspections with buyers a couple times a week
Along with various other things. It really is a job where you have to keep moving
The best advice I could give to a new agent starting out would be to join a team and work under an already proven agent. This way you’ll learn all there is the know without having the stresses of closing deals + generating business etc when you really don’t know what you’re doing. This way when you do go out “on your own”, you’ll hit the ground running and set yourself up better in the long term.
Also, have big dreams/aspirations. When I was almost finished flying and started to transition into real estate, I used to look at the tens of thousands of homes below me and think “I only need to sell a tiny handful of these to be super successful in real estate”. There really is so much opportunity out there, so dream big! .

How do you spend your days off? (If you have any 😂)
